The Sunnyside House at Interlaken Inn
Guests often ask during tours what accommodations are my favorite which is a fair question since Interlaken offers 16 unique room types in 5 different buildings.
My answer: The Sunnyside House. I am in love with the charm and elegance this 124 year old house offers perched on a knoll amidst the 30 acres of Interlaken grounds. The guest rooms received a facelift (soft renovation) two years ago and the design team gave it a polished look while keeping to the Victorian style. There are 4 different room types in the house, including one that is pet-friendly at ground-level with it’s own outside private entrance convenient to our dog walk path. The high ceilings, natural light and vintage furnishings combine to create the perfect atmosphere.
My affinity for Sunnyside is two-fold. Not only do I love staying in the house as a guest, but it is the perfect meeting destination. There are twelve guest rooms in the house, and the 12th room we transform into a private boardroom suitable for up to 14 attendees. The private living room is perfect for one on one conversation outside the meeting as well as after-hour socialization. The gorgeous wrap-around porch offers Adirondack chairs and side tables enabling the group to step outside for fresh air anytime. Over the years Sunnyside has hosted many different meeting groups including National Grid, Barden Corporation, Fiksu, Senco Brands and O,R & L Commercial. The common thread of feedback from each group is always the exclusivity of having the house to themselves and the uniqueness each guest room has to offer.
The next time you are considering a leisure getaway or planning a corporate meeting, I hope you will think about Sunnyside. I invite you to take a look at our Sunnyside Accommodations webpage as well as our Meetings webpage. If you would like to schedule a time to tour the property, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Morgan's Spring Menu
Here is one thing I haven't talked about in a while, and that is food. Fabulous food served in Morgan's Restaurant every night.
The new Spring menu is out, and it is lovely. Every season provides us with wonderful flavors, but the tastes of Spring are one of my favorites as the local farms produce amazing fruits and vegetables. If you agree, you must try this new appetizer:
Crudités of Spring Vegetables, Fava Bean Puree, Sunflower and Black Sesame Seed
This dish is so fresh, so healthy, so delicious. You will love it.
If you want to keep up with what the Chefs are creating in Morgan's Restaurant on a regular basis, become a follower on Instagram. Warning: Be prepared to make dinner reservations often.

25 years of Music
For twenty-five years, Scott Heth and friends (as we like to call them) have been playing their tunes at Interlaken. From Scott doing a solo act to their 8 piece band that rings in our New Year, Scott's jazz trio currently plays every Saturday evening in Morgan's Restaurant. Make your dinner reservation after 6:30pm any Saturday and your meal will be enhanced with the perfect amount of piano, bass and drums.
Thank you, Scott, for your many melodies over the years!
Canoes. Kayaks. Rowboats. Sailboats. Pontoon boats. People. Birds. Now we will be able to see something else that is new on our lakefront.
I've never tried stand-up paddle boarding, have you? If you'd like to, now you can your next visit to Interlaken! You will just need to have at least nine other people looking to join you to make the fun happen.
The latest addition to our corporate retreat, family reunion and wedding party offerings, The Litchfield County Paddler has teamed up with Interlaken to host their instruction right here on Lake Wononscopomuc. Our lakefront is the perfect spot to learn as it's just so peaceful - you will never be disturbed with speedboats or jet skis whizzing by, creating waves that may make you a bit unsteady. The waters of Lake Wononscopomuc are clear and cool, and also the deepest in the State of Connecticut.
Advance reservations are necessary, so click here for more information.
Memorial Day Marriage
The weather forecasters missed this one! It was a beautiful day to exchange vows at the pretty lakefront, then follow it with a celebration under our wedding pavilion, surrounded by freshly bloomed - and very green - gardens.
