Will you Marry Me?
Proposals have happened before at Interlaken, but each time I hear that one is going to happen I get excited like it's the very first time! Remember the one that happened in Morgan's last summer? Or the one that happened right after the holidays? We love being a part of such a momentus occasion, and this time was no exception.

Gold, silver, bronze. We all know we are busy watching the Olympics or at least checking in with the medal counts each day. Who were the gold, silver and bronze medalists at Interlaken for the month of July? Here's the scoreboard!

Meet Audrey, Esther, Bonnie, Michele, Susan, Jeannette, Beth, Diane and Gaby, the group known as 94 Moms. Now, 94 is not the number of Moms nor is 94 their age, but 1994 happens to be the year that they all met while their children attended the same nursery school, and they have been good friends ever since. For the past seven years they've gone away together for a girlfriend's getaway, leaving the husbands and all 23 children behind! They spent some time relaxing at the lakefront having a picnic and cocktails (of course), swimming and boating, - you know, important friendship bonding activities. They witnessed the wedding happening lakeside, and then they dined in Morgan's restaurant last night for dinner as part of the Girlfriend's Getaway package. The 94 Moms started their day this morning with a full breakfast buffet, including fresh omelets, and were going to complete their weekend by visiting neighboring Millerton, NY for some shopping (Harney and Sons Tea Shop please) and lunch, and then off to Millbrook Vineyard and Winery for a tour and tasting. What a fun and energetic group of Moms! So glad I met them - and it all started with just complimenting Audrey on her handbag! I am looking forward to their return next summer!
Peanut Butter Bliss
There's this fabulous special dessert in Morgan's Restaurant this week:
Yes, this is how I found out about it as well. This is not how I like to find out about new amazing yummy desserts. When I asked one of the two lucky recipients of what graced this plate that I missed, I was told it was "incredible". I bet you want to know what it was.
"Peanut Butter Semifreddo with Chocolate Sorbet with Peanut Brittle Dust"
Sounds delicious, doesn't it? Well, it was.
I was fortunate enough to try it myself, thank you Brandon! (Forgive the melting sorbet - I had to get the camera out and snap a photo). The Semifreddo was a first for me, and honestly a name I had never heard before. (Who would have thought tasting this dessert would become an educational experience?) Semifreddo is a class of semi-frozen desserts - this peanut butter one was like half mousse, half ice cream - so delicious. That peanut buttery bite teamed with the freshly made chocolate sorbet and a bit of the peanut brittle - well the flavors combined were just fabulous, as you probably can imagine. My plate looked just like the top photo in a matter of moments. You've got to try this one.
